Kaitelyn meets her brother

Kaitelyn really enjoyed meeting Reed for the first time. She held him for a long time and gave him some kisses. We'll see how long it lasts when he takes up the attention.

Reed James has arrived

Approximately 10:20AM, 8lbs 7oz, and 19.5" long. Little smaller than Brandy was thinking, but just perfect. Brandy is doing fine but she is still numb from the waist down as of blog entry.

Insomnia Sucks!!

Ugh...I've got a bad case of insomnia with this pregnancy. Like right now, it's 1:30am and I'm hanging out in the kitchen typing out my frustration and drinking a big glass of milk (it seems to help with the indigestion). I've been lying in bed for over an hour after I woke up with my 1st round of a full bladder. Almost every night, I wake up and toss and turn for 2 -4 hours at a time. I get so excited when I get a decent night's rest and only wake up when nature is calling 3-4 times a night.

I guess now that its' only a few days away before our "little man" arrives, I just can't shake this nervousness of having a new baby. I can't help but feel more nervous with this baby than I did with Kaitelyn. Maybe it's because I know what kind of pain I will be enduring from the c-section and knowing how difficult it can be taking care of an infant the first couple of weeks. Oh how a mother worries!

Well...I've downed my milk now so I'm gonna try and get some sleep again.

Baby Bump - 36 weeks

So exactly 1 week from today, we will no longer be a family of 3. We will be a new family of 4. We will be at the hospital by 8:00 am on Sunday, January 25th and "Little Man" will arrive sometime between 10:00 am - 10:30 am, I cannot believe it! I'm so excited that it's almost time, but still so very scared of not knowing what's to come. I've gotten a lot of advice from my BFF Monica and my good friend Becky. They both have children with the same age gap our children will be and that helps.

I'm still working on packing my bag for the hospital stay and a few other things. I hope to get those little things done on Monday. My plan is to have the rest of the week and weekend exclusively with Kaitelyn. I'm gonna miss our time alone (as I start to cry just thinking about it). Like my other girlfriends have said, they miss having that one-on-one time with their first, but they have adjusted. I really am sad for Kaitelyn's sake, but I know everything will be fine.

Bed Time

Okay, so we got Kaitelyn a new bedroom set for Christmas in hopes it would help her sleep get a better nights sleep. She seemed to sleep so much better in CA with that Queen size bed she had. Well... overall she does sleep better now in her new big girl bed, but each night we have to fight with her for about an hour to stay in her room or bed because it's "Night Night Time". Her bedtime has been 8:30pm, but I think I'm gonna have to move it up to 7:30pm or 8:00pm to help her get a decent amount of sleep. It's almost like watching one of those Nanny 911 shows. It's not even 5 minutes after I have tucked little miss thang in for bed, she will peek her head out of her room and then you hear little patters running across the floors. It's funny to be honest, but it's something I'm trying to break. Right now, my only solution is to make Luke tuck her into bed after I've put her back 2-3 times. She doesn't like her daddy tucking her into bed, she only wants mommy. I wish it wasn't like that.

Nesting Time

So I finally reached the point where I am offically "Nesting". It hit me yesterday (Monday). I suddenly woke up and had all this energy and felt like I needed to get all this organizing, cleaning and baking done around the house. When Luke came home, I put him to work right away too! This morning it wasn't as strong of an urge but I have definitely been busy again today cleaning and organizing things. Tomorrow will be another day of baking, freezing dishes, cleaning the bathroom and our bedroom.

I think we're pretty much ready if little man decided he wanted to make an early appearance. I have everything washed and almost put away. The hospital bag is almost packed. Kaitelyn's things are packed to stay with Auntie Allison while we are in the hospital. I think the animals sense the change too. They have been really clingy and just in the way ALL the time.

My Braxton Hicks have slowed down quite a bit, but when I do have them, they are strong. I've caught myself moaning a few times to help get through them. Brings back memories when I was laboring with Kaitelyn, but definitely not the real thing.

I can't wait to finally meet this little guy. These days, I cannot watch "A Baby Story" without crying when a baby is born. I wonder if I will cry when he is born? When Kaitelyn was born, I was in shock, I couldn't believe I was a mommy so I didn't cry.

Soon to be Big Sister

Kaitelyn received this really cool stroller as a gift for becoming a big sister from my BFF Monica. Her little girl received one for Christmas and has had so much fun with hers. Well, Kaitelyn has had tons of fun with hers too. These are pictures from the first night with the stroller. Kaitelyn likes to put FiFi (Alexis) in the stroller and push her around the house.

I love this stroller, I like to use it to pick up all of Kaitelyn's toys lying around the house and store them in it until she plays with it again.

Lately, Kaitelyn loves to have her picture taken. She will bring her camera up to us and ask us to take a picture of her. She will pose and say, "Cheese". It's so cheesy :D

Kaitelyn received this kitchen as a Christmas gift from my friend Monica. It has been a fun addition, her favorite part are the kitchen burners. They light up and make sounds. However, the kitchen was a major pain in the A$$ to put together. I think it took me like 5-7 hours to put together. I highly recommend buying a used one.

Can you believe how much my belly has grown in just one week's time? I definitely feel the difference. My feet and hands are suffering from perma-swelling. None of my shoes fit right and my feet feel like pins and needles when I walk. I'm so glad we're almost done. 3 more weeks to go, but I'm really hoping he's coming sooner. The contractions are getting stronger, just in the last week they have started in the back then moved forward. Yesterday, I had some cramping so I'm keeping my fingers crossed and so is Luke.
