Reed is eating baby food
I cannot believe how much Reed has grown in the last month. A week ago he started eating rice cereal and just on Sunday, he began eating squash. He's not 6 months yet, but he's doing great with the new foods.
Our 4th
This year we actually got out and did something for the 4th. Since we've been in WA, the 4th has just turned into a lazy day for us. I don't know why, but it just is.
So after Reed's long, long afternoon nap we gathered our things up and joined the fun at our friend Kyle's house. It's so nice living here in Port Orchard because most of everyone we hang out with live in the area too. Anyway, we joined in on the fun with the BBQ and slip n slide he made. It was so much fun to hang out with new people and watch the guys and Kaitelyn do the slip n slide.
Later in the evening, we stopped by a fireworks tent to pick up some sparklers for Kaitelyn and joined Matt and Maddy at their neighbors home. Their neighbors put on a great fireworks show and so did others on the lake. It was our first time kicking back on Long Lake and watching the shows. I think next year we will take our boat out.
Kaitelyn's Lunch Party
On Monday, Kaitelyn informed me that the "big kids" were coming over and she had to make something for them to eat. When I asked her who was coming over, she said "the boys". It turned out the boys she was referring to were: Brooke, Olivia and Alston. It was so cute to watch her put plates, bowls, snacks and such on the dining room table for them. During her pretend play, she asked me to peel oranges and open a package of yogo bites. She even had the front door open to allow let them to come in.
My little Kaitelyn kept expressing how excited she was that they were coming over. I felt bad for her knowing that they truely weren't coming. Later that evening, I put everything back in the drawers and dishwasher for another round of play today. She was devastated when she found out I put everything away.
