Reed's 2nd Birthday Party

Card from great g-ma Lansford

I feel that Reed's Birthday Party was a complete success. All the kids enjoyed the games, snacks and cake. In the past, I would stress out about food and entertaining everyone, but this time, I kept it pretty simple. The hardest part about Reed's party was trying to find Monster Truck items and when I did, most of them were too graphic or scary looking.

The kids started out by decorating their own goody bags with stickers, jewels and markers. Then we were off to go fishing for some fun prizes. Once the fishing was done, the kids enjoyed pasting their names on the awesome monster truck I made.

Reed's cake looked good and it tasted just as good. I had gone online and "studied" what others had done for their monster truck birthday cakes. That's how I came up with Reed's cake. When it came time to sing Happy Birthday to Reed, he just sat in his chair and took it all in. He was so proud to have all the attention on him.

After all the guests left, Kaitelyn and Reed played with all the new toys for a little while until they were too tired to play anymore. Kaitelyn curled up next to me on the couch, Reed placed his head on the couch while still standing and they both fell asleep. I wish I could have gotten a picture of Reed standing and sleeping. They were both asleep at 6pm, such a rarity.

Reed's Birthday

Reed had a great 2nd birthday today. We started out with some fun at a local community center where the kids could play in a big gymnasium full of toys and fun with others. I think Reed's favorite part was the fun with a big parachute and running up and down the gym at the end.

Then, off to Chuck E. Cheese we went. The kids had so much fun and racked up 550 tickets while they were there. After all the fun, we stopped at DQ for some ice cream (well, Kaitelyn & I did) poor Reed slept through our stop.

they're getting so good about posing together :-)

Reed loved riding on all the little trikes in the gym

look...Chuck E. Cheese is over there

mmmm.... Pizza
Reed looks so much like his cousin P.J. in this pic.

Kaitelyn loves horses.
I know the next time we go back to KS, she will be in horse heaven at Aunt Shannon's home.

Reed toting around a long strand of tickets he accumulated from a game:-)
It was so cute, it was like watching someone walk around with a strand of toilet paper stuck to a foot.

Happy Birthday Reed!

I cannot believe my precious little man is 2 today!!

Reed is such a little blessing and I'm so lucky to have my little man in my life :-)

Right now some of Reed's favorite things to do is play with his big sister and do everything she does. Playing with cars, trucks, remote control cars are some of his favorite past times as well. He's not much of a talker yet, but he understands everything. We get to listen to Kaitelyn all day everyday, so I think he's being reserved about what he has to say these days. However...here are some of Reed's favorite words... nah ugh mine, ball, here it is, there you are, nah nah nah nah, no way, just to name a few.

Reed has been a slow growing baby compared to Kaitelyn. He's just recently started wearing 18 - 24 mth clothing. By this age, Kaitelyn was wearing 3T's. It's been nice to get much use out of his clothing and shoes.

Ohhh how time flies by when you are having fun. Although, Reed's 1st year was a little challenging because he was so colicky. But since he's been walking and keeping up with big sis, he's been a blast!

I love you little man!

Little Man's Birthday Invites

I'm so excited about Reed's birthday invites. It took some planning and practicing but this is what I finally decided on.

After purchasing paper and some supplies for Kaitelyn's birthday invites last summer, it finally paid off to make Reed's from scratch. We decided to go for a Monster Truck theme and I'm excited to see how everything turns out for his big day:-)
