I feel that Reed's Birthday Party was a complete success. All the kids enjoyed the games, snacks and cake. In the past, I would stress out about food and entertaining everyone, but this time, I kept it pretty simple. The hardest part about Reed's party was trying to find Monster Truck items and when I did, most of them were too graphic or scary looking.
The kids started out by decorating their own goody bags with stickers, jewels and markers. Then we were off to go fishing for some fun prizes. Once the fishing was done, the kids enjoyed pasting their names on the awesome monster truck I made.
Reed's cake looked good and it tasted just as good. I had gone online and "studied" what others had done for their monster truck birthday cakes. That's how I came up with Reed's cake. When it came time to sing Happy Birthday to Reed, he just sat in his chair and took it all in. He was so proud to have all the attention on him.
After all the guests left, Kaitelyn and Reed played with all the new toys for a little while until they were too tired to play anymore. Kaitelyn curled up next to me on the couch, Reed placed his head on the couch while still standing and they both fell asleep. I wish I could have gotten a picture of Reed standing and sleeping. They were both asleep at 6pm, such a rarity.
just his foot, sorry James :-(
