Our New Home

I have a few pictures of our new home. I had planned to take more during the inspection, but I got carried away socializing with our agent and my good friend Maddy.

This weekend we make our first move out of our current home. We will be staying at the Tolf's home for the next few weeks. They are currently in Japan, so we won't have to worry about getting in their way during that time. We have such great friends!!

Then, in a few weeks we will be making our 2nd and final move for at least 20 - 30 years. We are excited that this new home has lots to offer for us and we will never outgrow it.

My long lost Brother...

So my brother and I have never been close. We've always been so different from one another and still remain that way. However, one thing we have in common is that we're both very caring and loving individuals. Although we seldom talk via phone, email or when I make a trip back to Kansas we know we still love each other. His wife, Leah sent me some pictures of them and I want to share.

It seems my brother looks and takes after the Rose family (our mom's family) and I believe I look and take after the Hernandez's (our dad's family). It's amazing how different two siblings can be.

A typical day in the Chermak House

This is our typical day and evening in our household. Reed and I have an appointment with a lactation specialist on Friday and the doctor on Monday. He's not eating well like Kaitelyn, but he's gaining weight and outgrowing his clothes. It seems he is always hungry, but he doesn't stay latched. It's very exhausting.

Oh So Busy

I have a few moments to post a few new pictures. We've been super busy with selling this house and planning out where we are going to live. A few posts back, I mentioned we were going to build, well that all changed this weekend. We found a deal on a house with acreage that we could not pass up. The house is a 2-story traditional with 3264 square feet and a little more that 2 acres of usable land. Kaitelyn and Reed will have lots and lots of space to play, outside and in. It's got a great open floor plan and other great amenities. I'll post some pictures when I get them.

Reed is getting big and Kaitelyn is growing like a dandelion. Reed is pretty colicky these days, it's exhausting. I know it'll get better soon. Here are some new pictures, Enjoy!

Kaitelyn feel asleep getting out of her seat.
This was the day we had our home inspected,
Kaitelyn had spent 2 good hours playing at the Mall with no nap.

We woke up to snow on Sunday morning (March 15th). It snowed all morning but then changed to rain that afternoon. It was a crazy weather day!

These days, when Reed is finally in a good mood he will smile and babble. I love these moments.

Little Munchkins

Gosh...I can't say it enough, I feel like the luckiest mom in the whole world. I absolutely love my children and cannot express it or tell them enough.

Kaitelyn has grown so much since her little brother arrived. She is my little helper bee and is always proud to share when she had done something all on her own. When Reed cries and I can't get to him soon enough, she will grab a pacifier or blanket and try to calm him down. I love it.

I just learned today that Reed sleeps much better when he is nestled up next to me. So this afternoon, I needed to get some things done like getting something to eat. I put a pillow up against him like it was me and he has been sleeping ever since. He's a sleeper like me, he likes to sleep on his side with a pillow up to his neck or sleep on his tummy like me. I'm so glad I figured it out. It's been a bit frustrating to get him to nap during the days for more than 10 -15 minutes. Each time I put him down, he would wake right back up and just cry, cry, cry unless I happened to put him down on his tummy. Then, that's when he would be out for a couple of hours.

Our little man has grown so much and it's sad to think that he's no longer a newborn:-( He's an infant now. Last Thursday, he started cooing and he's been spending more time awake during the days. That's harder on me because he wants to be held most of the time. Luckily, my friend Maddy made a ring sling for me and that has helped (but only after she showed me how to use it the right way).

Here are a few new pictures of our little munchkins. Don't have much time to post these days, but hopefully it'll get easier in due time.

Another thing, Reed is doing really well holding his head up, he's been doing that almost since he came home from the hospital. He's such a strong little man. Everyone that holds him always tell me "How strong he is". It just reminds me of what it was like when he was in the womb. He was just as strong on the inside as he is on the outside.

It seemed too good to be true!

We received some disturbing news in selling our home over the weekend. Our agent called us on Saturday to say the inspection that was scheduled for Sunday was being delayed. The reason was the (boyfriend/husband) of the buyers received word that on Monday he would be let go from his job or get a promotion. So we had to sit tight all weekend and all day on Monday waiting to hear if our buyers were still in or out. We got a call Monday evening that things were looking kinda promising when the buyers went ahead and rescheduled the inspection for today (Tuesday at 2pm). So...once again, we put on our cleaning caps and worked on getting the house presentable and were once again excited about our home being sold. Well...I received that call once again this morning that the inspection was being canceled. This time, the buyer sent his agent a text that he is supposedly being relocated now. How convenient! Good to know now and not at time of closing after we have put a deposit down on another place to live and moved out.

So needless to say, we will be counter offering with the 1st contract we received on the home this afternoon. This buyer is very excited to know she has another chance at the home so maybe she will be more flexible with her offer. If not, we will be re-listing our home again at the end of the week in search for a new offer. If we do accept her contract today/tomorrow, we're hoping to still close 3/27 otherwise we will have to wait until 4/30 to close. (She is approved for FHA financing so those loans only close at the end of the month). That's good and bad for us. If we have to wait until the end of April, it means we will have more time to pack and get out, but we found a great duplex to live in while our home is being built. That means we will lose it if we have to wait another month. Also, we would have to wait one more month before we can finalize the plans on our new home and get started on it.

It seemed too good to be true and too easy for a change. It seems nothing ever comes easy for us, there's always obstacles to overcome. Now...to add to the stress. One of our tenants are talking about moving out of one our rentals due to transportation issues. There will be some changes to the public transportation which will affect their way of getting to and from work each day. They are saying that they will probably have to move because of this.

Needless to say, we're frustrated about the situation and feel like some people just don't appreciate what we do for them. Regardless of the price we pay to simplify things for them. Just another obstacle to overcome in the midst of trying to settle things with our old and new home.
