Nice Pics of Baby Chase

I'm so lucky to have such wonderful friends in my life.  My friend Becky came over when Chase was a couple of weeks old and practiced taking newborn pics for her photography business.  What a great opportunity for the both of us.  She was able to practice and now I have some wonderful pictures of my last baby(sniffle, sniffle).

What to say...

Okay, so I have lots to catch up on since the last post.  And WOW...I updated our blog template, it's gonna take some getting used to.  Lots of new stuff.

**  Luke's parents came to visit
~  Harry and Tina came to visit Oct. 18th - 25th.  It was a really nice visit.  Kids really enjoyed their time with grandma & grandpa Chermak.  Our days were cut in half because Kaitelyn had school in the afternoons, but we managed to take some leisure walks together. Gma & Gpa took kids to Illahee park and we spent a day at Ocean Shores.

**  Chase started rolling over
~ Chase started rolling over October 17th :)

** There was Halloween
~ I have a few pics of Kaitelyn & Chase but none of Reed.  He refused to take a picture.  Kaitelyn wanted to be a mermaid again so she dressed in her costume from last year. I bought Reed a dragon/dinosaur costume from a consignment shop. Then Chase wore the infamous infant clown costume we purchased when Kaitelyn was a baby.  Fit him perfectly.

** Potty Training for Reed
~ The entire month of November, we worked with Reed on potty training before heading over to Japan.  We knew it would be a pain carrying around diapers for 2 & a pain for Luke to shop for diapers all the time.  Our persistence paid off!!  We took the kids to Chuck E Cheese the day before we left for Japan as a reward to Reed.  It was extra special because Clara got to join us for one last hoorah before we left.  Reed is doing great with his underoos and he never wants to sit anymore.  It's all about standing up just like daddy to do his business.

** Chase started sitting up
~ November 9th, just barely 4months old, Chase started sitting up on his own :)

** Kaitelyn got her first cavities
~ Kaitelyn got her first round of cavities.  2 on top left and 2 on bottom right.  She had the top ones filled first.  We didn't listen to the doctor about leaving the gauze in the mouth for a couple of hours.  So Kaitelyn caused trauma to her lip.  It was swollen, red & had a huge canker sore for almost a week.  Her lip looked like someone who received too much lip injections.  Wish I woulda taken pics.

** There was Thanksgiving
~  We had plans to spend Thanksgiving with the Webers, but Reed & Chase were both sick so we had to cancel at the last minute.  Nicolle was going to bring over the Turkey so long story short, we didn't have a turkey this year.  I went Fred Meyer and all they had left were hams (bleh) and little hens.  So...we settled for a little hen in place of the big bird.

** There was us getting ready for Japan
~ What to ship, what to pack, what's it going to be like over there with 3 kids.  Well, we shipped 5 boxes & brought 4 big duffle bags with us. I was so nervous, I bit the tips of all my fingers off.  Most people will chew/bite their nails, I like to chew my finger tips.  My thumbs are still healing.

Here we are waiting to leave. We are in the last row.

Lovin' Blackberry Season

We love blackberry season

It means going out a few times a week just to pick, eat and enjoy some fresh fruit. We've picked so many blackberries this year and I've made so much blackberry cobbler, I think we've put on a few pounds enjoying nature at its best. But it's so worth it, yuuummmy!!

I think Kaitelyn picked a sour one.

Chase enjoying being outside and going for a ride:-)

Reed eats em as fast as we can pick em!

Look Who's Smilin'

My little Chase is such a happy little man. It's been fun watching him grow everyday. He's sitting up (with help of course) & holding his head up really well. He loves tummy time and just lounging around watching his big sister & big brother being silly all the time. Chase started smiling on August 15th and hasn't stopped since, he's beginning to giggle a little bit which is super cute to hear. I love my babies and it's so fun to watch them grow and learn each day.

hangin' out in the bouncer...so fun!

Kaitelyn's 1st day of Kindergarten

Our sweet little girl is growing up

look at all that excitement on her little face!

September 12, 2011 was Kaitelyn's 1st day of Kindergarten. Our sweet baby girl is growing up so fast.

Kaitelyn is in the PM Kindergarten class which works really well with our schedule. She's got the morning to hang out with her brothers then off to hang out with her school friends in the afternoon.

All morning long, Kaitelyn would ask "how many more minutes before I get to go to school mommy"? We were counting down all morning long then the moment finally came to tie her shoes and head out the door. She was elated to finally ride the big yellow bus! However, it didn't work out that way:-( Long story short, the school office gave me the wrong time for pickup and they also told me that the bus would pickup at our house. Poor Kaitelyn waited 40 minutes for the bus to come get her, but it never did. I finally called transportation and they told me a different time and explained they would not pick up at the house. At that time, the school was calling me because Kaitelyn had been marked "Absent" from her 1st day of class. I rushed to get the kids packed in the van and made a mad dash to get her there an hour late.
I'm really bummed that I did not get a chance to get pics of her hanging up her bag and getting setup for her 1st day. I didn't want to interrupt the class too much. But we had fun and Kaitelyn still had lots of fun. At least she got to ride the bus home.

Today, her 2nd day of school has gone much smother. We were at the bus stop 15 minutes early and she got to ride the bus to school finally. She was sooo excited, I'm smiling just thinking about how happy she was getting on that bus and sitting in a seat. I didn't take any pics, but I did get teary eyed watching my baby girl grow up.

Catching Up

Transitioning from 2 children to 3 has been a little challenging for me so far. Mostly because I haven't been able to get back to feeling 100% again. I had a slow recovery from delivering Chase, I developed Mastitis, injured my left hip carrying Chase in the car carrier and developed a severe case of tendinitis and now a horrible head cold. I just can't seem to shake these ailments:-( I've been limping around for the whole month of August now and using a crutch to help my leg heal. It's been a real challenge trying to carry Chase around and keep up with Kaitelyn and Reed and the House.

I've managed to get some photos of the kiddos....

Chase is thriving well. He's up to 13lbs already and he's only 7wks old. He sleeps really well. He's a lot like his big sis Kaitelyn sleep wise & growth wise. But he is like his big bro Reed when it comes to cuddle time.

Brandy and the old truck

So yesterday at about noon a uninsured motorist decided to run into Brandy's Odyssey in the Fred Meyer parking lot. So far the estimates are between 2-3k for the repair. The biggest problem is frugal Luke doesn't pay for car rental coverage but luckily has been paying the uninsured motorist coverage. So we'll have to wait until the MIL (Mother in law) leaves to get it fixed since we all won't be able to fit in the Taco. State Farm has been pretty good about it so far and hopefully they'll go after the guy for the damages.

Chase Andrew pics and stats

Born at 0026, 7lbs 13oz, 20in long. He came out and then peed all over the nurses for a good while. So far he has been a good eater and sleeper.
